Fall Fun!!!

Keeping with tradition... we drove up into the mountains and saw the beautiful leaves!!! We went to Silver Plume, played around and hiked a bit. Then we went to lunch at Beau Jo's!!! I just love fall and was AMAZED at how beautiful all the fall colors are!!!

Yes, I am talking about my family--not the flowers!!! I found this little 'field' of wildflowers and all I could think about was taking pictures of the kids in it. James joined us after school which is always good during photo-shoots since I can get so frustrated!!!

Hurricane Preston!!

I know the country has been getting hit with a lot of hurricanes and oddly enough we have had one hit here right in Denver!!! It's name is Preston and he is equally as destructive as the hurricanes posted all over the news!!! His latest disaster zone was my much loved Bose sound dock that I received for Mother's Day!! He ruined it and it is now in the the mail to be repaired!! In the last few months he has single handedly destroyed my sewing machine, our indoor plants, our vacuum, Dorothy's play kitchen and now my sound dock!! Preston's latest talent is climbing out of his crib and knocking on the door to be let out. The good news is... He is way too cute to be mad at!!! We just have to laugh at little naughty fingers!!!

P.S. He also is now in nursery, so I'm no longer in tears after church, wondering why I even go!!!

A is for Apple Day!!!

Today was 'Apple Day' at Dorothy's school. She has been talking non-stop about apple day all week. Her assignment was to bring her favorite apple (red, green or yellow) to school. She chose yellow. There are a few rules about apple day that I am sure most of you are un-familiar with so I will share them with you...
1. You must wear an apple outfit to apple day, so if your Mom sets out something else throw a fit until you can wear your apple outfit.
2. If you have any siblings, they must also wear an apple outfit. If they do not have one, a red outfit may be substituted.
3. Make Mom take pictures of your apple on apple day...
4. Talk incessantly about apple day until the actual event!!

These are just a few of the rules! The number one rule I learned was to buy many apples so that when little brother decides to snack on one of the said apples you have a back-up!!!

Rockin' the Rockies!!

Yesterday we went to the Rockies game! I (Tricia) sung the national anthem... in a choir!!! Don't worry, no one in their right mind would let me sing a solo!! I auditioned and actually made it into the Colorado Mormon Chorale!
Since I already had to be there, we decided to take the family and enjoy (well try and enjoy) the game. Preston was a bit wiggly to last 9 innings... So we left a little early! Dorothy kept cheering for the Marlins and we had to tell her it was the Rockies but after a few innings she had it all figured out!! It was really fun!!

Last few days of summer!

With fall well on it's way (yeah!!)... We have been spending all spare time outside! Here are a few pictures of the kids playing!

James has been wanting to take the kids and go camping all summer (since we are all geared up for it!) So I finally agreed to go last weekend. The only problem was it was raining and cold... so we decided to have a camp out at home!! It was really fun and to enjoy myself. I did not have to pack and unpack a million things!

Look who's getting old!!!

I (Tricia) turned 31 yesterday! I would always joke with my Mom that she went into labor on 'labor day!' She never thought that was very funny ~ now I can see why!!! I had a 'Kitty-Kitty' party planned by the premier party planner: Dorothy! She totally copied her cousin Kyra's birthday, but hey you get inspiration where you can!! It was a really fun day filled with all my favorite things and people!!!

Dorothy had her first day of pre-school last week!! I cannot believe how fast the summer has flown by!!! She is now going 4 days a week for 2 1/2 hrs BUSY BUSY times for "Taxi Mommy"!!!
